Requirements
  • Expert ability in web publishing and thorough knowledge of web page construction, including HyperText Markup Language, CSS, and graphics packages such as Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong active listening skills and willingness to incorporate feedback to deliver results that achieve department goals.
  • Ability to research and analyze website issues and implement solutions through sound judgment.
  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Information Technology, English, Communications, Information Management, Marketing, or a closely related field.
  • Two years of progressively responsible related experience in professional web-based content management, including web page layout, content and design; electronic or web publishing; web editing and content management; and internet research.
  • Applicants must submit a cover letter, resume, references, and a portfolio of website work, particularly website graphic design.
  • Successful applicants must undergo position-relevant background checks and pass reference checks before receiving an offer.
Responsibilities
  • Support staff across agency divisions in implementing the agency website design as part of the Website Redesign and Improvement Project.
  • Work with the Communications Office team and agency website editors and publishers to improve the website's overall design and structure.
  • Work with the Communications Office to ensure website usability, accessibility, and performance.
  • Contribute to training staff to ensure documents comply with Section 508.
  • Support Moodle, GovDelivery, and AccessGov.
  • Assist with posting ArcGIS visualizations and Tableau dashboards to the agency website.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Figma, Canva, graphic design, writing web content, electronic marketing, metadata, designing or maintaining websites, and social media.
  • Strong knowledge of Section 508 and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines compliance, with experience creating accessible digital content and remediating non-compliant documents, platforms, or assets.
  • Other combinations of related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
